A lady has recounted how her former boyfriend allegedly ended their relationship just four months after she sponsored his move to the United Kingdom and covered several of his expenses.
According to the lady, she paid for his UK visa, contributed towards his flight ticket and used her own money to arrange accommodation for him after he arrived in the country.
She said she initially put him in a hotel so he could self-isolate before moving him into a rented apartment, which she also paid for.
However, she claimed the relationship ended only four months after his arrival in the UK, just weeks before their planned wedding.
The lady further alleged that her former boyfriend and his family asked her not to inform the UK Home Office that their relationship had ended because he still wanted to remain in the country.
She expressed disbelief that, despite allegedly ending the relationship, her ex-boyfriend still expected her to keep their separation from immigration authorities.
“I brought him to the UK. I paid for his visa to come to the UK. I paid part of his ticket to come to the UK,” she said.
She added that she spent her own money on his accommodation after he arrived, only for him to allegedly end the relationship months later.
The lady’s account has sparked reactions online, with social media users debating relationships, financial sacrifices and the responsibilities involved when one partner helps another relocate abroad.
